keeping you updated and quote-wise
Even when there's not too much to tell! :)
we've just upgraded the site, this is a small upgrade - fixed some bugs and made a small change to the home page (when logged out) to make it more friendly to people arriving for the first time.
and if you really insist - we've also added the long awaited personal messages to invitations.
however, I've decided to upgrade this post by adding some borrowing and lending quotes:
first, my favorite:
A book lying idle on a shelf is wasted ammunition. Like money, books must be kept in constant circulation. Lend and borrow to the maximum -- of both books and money! But especially books, for books represent infinitely more than money. A book is not only a friend, it makes friends for you. When you have possessed a book with mind and spirit, you are enriched. But when you pass it on you are enriched threefold.
Henri Miller, from "The books in my life"
ok. another one:
"Neither A Borrower, Nor A Lender Be"
NOOOO! bad quote! don't listen to it. It's about money anyway. NOT ABOUT STUFF! lending stuff is great.
ok, another positive one:
"return everything you borrow" - the eight points for attention, chairman mao
ok. this is controversial too, but put your opinion on mao aside, there's some good advice there:
the eight points for attention (speak politely; pay fairly for what you buy; return everything you borrow; pay for anything you damage; do not hit or swear at people; do not damage crops; do not take liberties with women; do not ill-treat captives)
especially the "do not ill-treat captives" and "do not damage crops". but I think for us also "speak politely, and "return everything you borrow" :)
the last one is from an interesting site, here's the link:
http://www.burbia.com/node/1352
and it goes like this:
Man 1: Think I could borrow a few of your patio chairs?
Man 2: What?
Man 1: We're having a party this weekend.
Man 2: I don't think we heard about a party.
Man 1: (pauses) Oh, well, I'm sure Susan meant to call you.
Man 2: Buy your own f**king chairs.
Enjoy!
